That look

In recent years, I have hung out progressively less in Davis and, as such, at the Diesel. This does not reflect at all upon my opinion of said place; in fact, Davis is one of my favorite places in the city. However, I moved out of Somerville, started hanging out with different folks, doing different things, like you do. As such, less over here. It used to be when I went into Diesel, any time of the day, there were high odds of seeing someone I knew - even if only kinda. This was ten times as likely if it were in the evening. However, today, I went in and there was no one I knew. Not even kinda. That said - there were plenty of folks here who looked like people I would know. They had a style, a body language, a way of smiling or laughing that suggested that they were "My people", if you will. Yet, I didn't know them. Still, it's comfortable to be here, even among these unknown known-like beings. People like me come here, and the feeling of the place is like me as well. Thus, I am welcome.
