I just recently bought some shelves so that I can make more space to put my growing collection of school stuff and (guilty) pleasure collection (*snicker*) so I've been cleaning up my room now.
I think I'm gonna have to throw away the Japanese version of the Brave Story novels because they're not in the right quality to be sold as second-hand books (there are ink smudges on the cover somehow? ><;;). Also I should finally let go of my self-made Tales doujinshis and throw them away. Kinda a bit of a waste, but I don't see anyone wanting them anymore... Someday I'll try to get some money and pay my mother back :( Aaaahh, but I dunno, I wanna pay her back with money I earned through doujin-making just so that I can justify my doujin activity someday. OTL
I wanna get rid of my old Zexion/Demyx doujinshi too because the book's quality is poor in my standard (on myself) but I already applied for a booth at this year's Summer Comiket, so if I do get a booth, I wanna sell my books there as a last resort at least. If it doesn't sell out, then I'll finally throw them away. Oh, it's gonna be a Terra-centric booth btw, lol. Let's hope I do get the booth. But I dunno, recently there's this propsed law on fictional underaged characters being banned from questionable situations and if this law gets approved, this means goodbye to Comiket, or doujin events in general (pfft, really, do you think the organizers will earn money from just all-chara doujin circles?) so I really hope it doesn't get to that.
Moving on more towards that topic, the only English article I can find talking about the proposed law is
Sankaku's (NSFW link btw) but their article isn't quite up-to-date. The law doesn't only ban pr0n but it also works on normal works, like shoujo manga showing a girl kissing the hero or a shounen manga hero getting injured and having blood on him. Hell, not only novels and movies too, but even drama CDs are gonna be affected too. Just for the sake of mentioning it, even most of Kingdom Hearts games would get banned because there are spots where Sora and Ven are half-naked. 8/
The limit on story expression is very heavy for the creative industry so not only doujin circles but also many official mangaka, game designers and companies are against this law. This is a tough fight because even the defences said something like "if there are already other countries (like Iran?) banning this sort of thing, doesn't mean Japan can't survive through this ban too" but PFFTT YEAH RIGHT, have fun taking away 90% of Japan's entertainment profits. Japan going bankrupt? I can totally see it if this law gets approved.
Anyway, if you wanna read more on this in Japanese, there's an
info site here.
EDIT:
Ah, thanks to
kasumi_blue I found a
more updated and SFW article on Anime News Network. And
