Street art

Quickly, since it's after 2am, I just watched Exit Through the Gift Shop and I had NO IDEA that was MBW or anything about how he got started, and that half of his works were actually MBW. I have some photos of his stuff on the streets in Williamsburg from 2008 and I believe that's the same year that he decorated a space for a CMJ party. I also thought they used some of my photos from Shepard Fairey's stuff in Boston from 2008 but they seem to be someone else's photos but from almost the exact same angles which is kinda crazy, but I definitely paused it and looked at my photos on Flickr to see if they were mine as soon as I saw them, haha.

ANYWAY, watching this makes me want to do street art. Obviously I am not as cool nor as creative as some of these people to keep coming up with things, but I'd like to create one image as a stencil and work my way up to wheat pasting around Brooklyn. I know I said something like this also back in 2008 when I was taking 2 art classes and since Shepard was in Boston it was fueling my want to try it out. It's easy enough to do in Brooklyn, I just need to come up with a few images, and I guess a name for myself. Just for my own amusement, mostly, and maybe I can get some tags on Flickr, and that'd be all I really expect out of it. But I think it'd be fun and "dangerous" and exciting and a great project to do as the weather gets nicer. This is something I need to work on.
