I took some more pictures of my 18thc cap with my new pink ribbon, this time with my hair contained. I discovered it's actually quite easy to get my hair back with the ribbon on. I just put my hair in a low ponytail in the back and then just shove my bangs under the band in the front of my cap. It's the same method I use with my Tudor cap and it quite comfy and keeps my hair in place all day. I also found while at SCA camps that it really flattens me usually quite poofy hair, so when I take the cap off I have the straight, smooth hair I always dreamed of!
Anyway, after that rant, cap!
Can you tell I'm in love with this cap? But I am. It's so ruffly and wonderful!
Today I've been listening to the Colonial Williamsburg podcasts. They're very interesting! There are three about costumes, and a bunch about everyday life and research in the 18th century. Everyone should check it out!
