... but this time I have pictures!
The stays are at a wearable state, which of course means I've found a problem. The problem with making corsets is that you can never discover what wrong with them until they're 85% done.
The front is too short/too flat so it's pushing my boobs up and over the top. Damn you boobs! And the problem is I'm sure sure how to fix it. *sigh* I think I need to mull more.
Side view, illustrating boob spillage.
Other than that they're very comfy and pretty.
Also, to christin my new ribbon, I made a cockade!
A bit fuzzy, I know.
The green grosgrain ribbon is actually from my birthday present wrappings, and I liked it so much I kept it. 'Cause who doesn't like pink and green?
I really want to take that cockade and stick it on a jaunty straw hat, now! Actually, I've been in quite a millinery mood lately. It's too bad, due to the fact that I'm dirt poor right now. But I've been so itching to make a pretty little Victorian bonnet to go with my 1850s dress, and a new regency bonnet (I scrapped the gold one - decided it looked too much like an over-sized puffy baseball cap) and a pretty 18thc hat. I should hit up Chinatown when I'm home look for straw hats to re-shape.
