Wow, it's been a while since posting. And I have much news!
First of all, work starts tomorrow. I'm working at Fashion Design camp at Harbourfront in Toronto, which is going to be very fun, pretty good pay, and I get my evenings and weekends. w00t.
This past weekend I spend at War of the Trillium, which is an SCA camp in Whitby. While I was sort of nervous about going at first, I;m very glad I did. It was a nice relaxed camp, and there was a lot of hanging around and chatting to people about things and doing crafty-type things. Best of all, I spent ALL weekend in my Tudor peasant outfit (including stays). I was rather nervous about this at first, but it turned out to be very comfortable, practical, and of course, fun to wear. The best was when we went leak picking in the woods. I felt like a real Tudor peasnt, down on my hands and knees digging leaks out of the ground with my hands. I even tucked up my apron to make a little pocket to put them in. It was my period experience. I didn't go to any fighting, but I went to court, which was very cool. Lots of pretty outfits and curtsying and things.
In other news, my friend
cws_eat_chs got me into the Monkey island adventure games series, and I will admit, I am obsessed. But it's an awesome adventure games about pirates! And Guybrush Threepwood (main character, awesome name, see icon) is totally woobie and awesome. I've played the first three games and have yet to do the last one. *yay* For small peak, check this out -

Last night I also watched Last of the Time Lords, which I'm still not entirely sure what I think of yet. I will probably post on it when I've watched it again.
Lastly, I have been memed by
hjea 1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 4-7 sentences on your LJ along with these instructions.
5. Don't you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest (unless it's too troublesome to reach and is really heavy. Then go back to step 1).
6. Tag five people.
My closest book - Monty Python Flying Circus: Just the Word Vol. 1. (not kidding)
TREE: Hello. Hello people, and welcome to 'It's a Tree.'. We have some really exciting guests for you this evening. A fabulous spruce, back from a tour of Holland, three gums making their first appearance in this country, scots pines and conifers, and Elm Tree Bole - there you go, can't be bad - and exciting new American plank, a rainforest and a bucket of sawdust giving their views on teenage violence, and an unusual guest for this programme, a piece of laminated plastic.
PLASTIC: Hi there!
