18thc progress

I got a LOT of progress done on my polonaise yesterday.

here's the back pieces sewn together. I had to re-cut them four times before I was happy with the angle of the stripes, but I think they look great now.

A picture of me leveling the skirt. My dress dummy in my height, so rather than having to do any math, I just pinned the skirt onto the bodice so that the hem was even, and then eye-balled and pinned all the pleats into place. Hey, in the 18thc they didn't care about pleats being totally even, either!

I want to polonaise it with the ribbons and buttons method, so here I pinned some ribbons into place to get me the idea.

I also got the collar on my Charley dress, and it looks great now!

It's so cute!
