So here's the second of my posts from the week, a little late its true but I'm gonna say it was on time anyway... :P still what can you do?
Over the past two days I have basically packed for Uni... Thats it. I worked my second to last game at Sheffield Wednesday "tonight", (ironically enough against Stoke!) which was... well interesting on several counts... Ok I lie, it probably wasnt really but still, I thought it was and since this is my blog, I'll share and you can judge for yourself (for those many none-football-fans, I hasten to add this isnt actually football related).
Basically, I went into town for about 4:20 - I didnt have to be in till 5 or roundabout there, so I did abit of browsing in town. Walking into virgin I suddenly realised this may be the last chance to buy one of those Crow posters I've been threatening to buy for so long, so I decided to go to town (since I get a new room! :) ) and bought both those available!! Grand. So off I trot to the bank, however, on the way there I ge tstopped by one of the charity guys... Amnesty International...
Now I support the work they do and all (despite still not believing some of their statistics - one in four women beaten in the UK...? so of my 8 closest friends, they're telling me two of them will be wife-beaters...? yeah right...) and the guy was really nice, however, he was trying to sign me up to pay £1.25 per month. Guy: "£1.25 not much to us right? bout 1 drink - but to them its massive." No true, its not much if you have a full-time job... when your a student, only just getting by (yes I've worked this out), dont have a proper bank account yet, cant sort this out anytime soon incase they cancel your student loan its worth abit more. £1.25x52 = £65... I'm sorry but thats a train ticket down to Cambridge... case closed.
However, I did feel I wanted to give to this as it is worth while so therefore I got some money out bought my posters and went back to give him a fiver... they cant accept donations... ack... I think I might stil go online and make a one-off... still it did annoy me when he didnt take the hint that I didnt want to join-up: "Yeah, but it does start in October, you can have your account and loan sorted by then right?" Nice guy, but no...
Anyway, that was vaguely interesting... not! (I jsut read it back >_< Infact I'm gonna put it in a cut - there). On the way to the game I swear the tannoyin the tram said; *annoying woman's voice* "The next stop by request will be, Halsmoo". . . Ok, where the hell is Halsmoo...? (it was actually Shalesmoor - but the point is would I have sat up and took notice if it had said Shalesmoor... I think not...). At the game the Stoke fans were all pretty cool but for about 4...
Ok, rant coming on, sorry... Now, when you pay £20 plus for a game of football - or concert for that matter, what should you do? What is it expected of you to do? You watch the game/event, no? is that so odd...? Well apparantly so, cos some people pay £20 plus to watch the first half then spend the ENTIRE second half ribbing one of the staff on the kiosk about, of all things, his hair. Grown "men", about 20-25 years of age, engaging in school-kid whining, mocking and arsing around... How fecking ANNOYING... well, it is when your trying to work. Idiots... 45minutes of pricking around and getting in the way as we tried to pack up left-over drinks etc.... *rant ends*
Anyway, all in all, it wasnt so bad and I got to see the lovely
samegrazedknees at the end of the night and we got to eat Fajitas... at about 11:30 at night... Rock on...! :P
