I really am annoyed about something. My mother keeps advising me that it would be wiser to be a little more silent, when I meet a guy, to just look at him, study him and see if  he's the one interested to talk to me. Hell, what's this? Love at first sight? Jesus, I can't just say "Oh, hy, I'm Ruxandra, nice to meet you" and then shut up like a dumb ( Read more... )

I'm sorry to tell you this, but your mom (and WS and Liadine) are right about this. From the way I have heard you talk about meetings with guys before and the way you acted at such moments, I can tell that in continuing being just like that will have you hear the sentences: 'I like you but just as a friend' and 'you're like a sister to me!' very much in the future. It is good to be friendly, but you can be too friendly.

We are talking about what is the most enjoyable game in the world: flirting. This is what makes the difference between talking to just a male friend, or talking to a future-boyfriend. First of all, like Liadine said, men like to take the lead, so let them ask the questions, ask them back after they have. Don't worry about having to ask one to avoid an akward silence. Here's where the physical game comes into action. Whenever a silence occurs, do something like this: trail the rim of your glass with your finger or just look at it intensively, then look at your victim from the corner of your eyes and smile. You'll be sure to get a reaction and onwards we go!
Secondly, like the others said, being a mystery is the key. Look at it from your side: Would you like a guy to be an open book, or would you like someone who amazes you everytime with new sides to his character?

These little ways you just have to learn through try and fail. There's so many things. It's as simple as the way you look at a guy that can make the change between future friend of future boyfriend. Go ahead and try!

Oh my dear. :)) I surely will try, once I get rid of the exams and such. But I dunno, I'm afraid to fail...even though, you can't succeed unless you don't try...
