It's a hot, hot day in Athens, Greece.
We were going to do a lot today, but we just ended up going to the port to get ferry tickets TWICE (thanks a lot, Tyler) and walked around. We ate lunch at this amazing little cafe, thanks to my 'Let's Go' book and had a wonderful Greek salad and some pasta. The food here is divine. Everything is full of fresh vegetables and spices. Last night we went to a vegetarian cafe and I had a wonderful cucumber and tomato salad, a spinach, olive, tomato and feta cheese pie, and some yogurt with honey and almonds. I feel like the toxic crap that's been accumulating in my body is finally gone. I think my cold is leaving as well.
Tomorrow we're going to see some sites, meet Tyler after he flies in and maybe go out or something. And then Sunday we booked a ferry (a 9 hour ride...ugh) to Santorini, where I plan to sit on the beach all day, not getting a tan. Tans are disgusting, especially fake tans. When white girls tan it's even worse because it usually comes out looking orange and crusty. Ewww.
I feel like I'm finally happy with my life and the people in it. I've been surrounded by wonderful people the past few months and I'm very lucky. I feel loved and accepted. I feel like I can be myself. It sounds corny but I think there's not a lot of pressure being put on me anymore. And I found a place to live next fall (I think). All I need to do now is make some money over the summer and get an internship. And hopefully have Steve visit so I can drive him around like he does for me in England.
