I'm in Athens, Greece and it's amazing!!!

I think it's pretty much how I've always imagined it would be, since I was a little girl. Our hotel is right by all the sites with an amazing view of the Acropolis. Today we hiked around, saw some ruins, drank coffee at a sidewalk cafe, got serenaded by a guy with an acordion and that's about it.

There's a lot of poverty here, though. Much more than in Prague, which surprises me. All these little kids were begging when we were at the cafe and it kind of upset me. I guess this is the real world. And there are millions of stray dogs EVERYWHERE. It's fucking insane. But the sun is out and the weather's nice.

I'm still really sick. Can't get rid of this drippy nose and clogged throat.

Steve called last night from Derby and was watching a football match. I hate when guys call you while watching sports because all you can here is screaming in the background. Anyway, he was quite sweet and wants to go to Malta. I told him I won't have enough money to go to Malta in a million years and he said we're still going, so... He also asked if he could take me to meet his parents one weekend while I'm back in England. I told him yes and I think that made him really happy. Oh, what a big step...meeting the parents. I think he really likes me...which is strange. Because usually guys never like me enough to treat me as good as he does.

Anyway, we have two more full days in Athens and then we take a long ass ferry ride to Santorini and then we come back and go home to London. I love traveling but being a hobo with no home for the past three weeks has been trying and now I need a break. Maybe some good food and a nice, cozy bed. And Steve.
