So it would seem David's hard drive is entirely dead. Which means, for all intents and purposes, that David is dead as a doornail. I tried reinstalling MacOS on him, and the installation programme couldn't even see that there was a drive there. Now he doesn't even make weird repetitive noises when I start him up.
