United By The Moment!

So, if you haven't heard, Melbourne - my home town - is hosting the XVIII (18th) Commonwealth Games. Melbourne 2006. I'm feeling quite patriotic right now and i'm very much in the spirit of these Comm. Games. I have tickets to the Athletics event tomorrow night at 6.30pm. Quite excited. I think I'll be going to a couple more events also.

I'm a people person, if you haven't noticed yet. I just love the fact that our city is being temporarily invaded by people from all corners of the Earth. I'm in the city at least twice a day, on my way to uni, and it's always alive now. I love the city when it's bustling. The atmosphere is so great, so fun, filled with unity.

The queen's baton went RIGHT PAST MY HOUSE! Yep, I was up because I was going to uni and I saw it. I also took photos for your viewing pleasure. I think this might be the first time I've included photos in an LJ entry. Or not. It was taken on my camera phone so the quality won't be anything to say "wow" about. Most of the street (or road) was there watching it. Yay!

This is one of several policemen protecting this baton. Along with all sorts of trucks and media.

The previous runner is giving the baton to the new dude (right outside my house!!) and they are posing for the media.

Watch him go past what used to be a hospital! Once again with the police escort.
How excitement. Uni's too much work as usual, but I should be ok. I'm sorta sick again. It's just a really lame cough that comes every now and then. Strange... But I wont let that dampen my spirits. I'm in Melbourne, The Place To Be!
