New discovery: the Paperback Swap. It's like the Paperback Exchange in Florence, only over the internet, and thus inaccessible by bus. Basically, you post books that you have and if people want them, they tell you and you send them off, paying about $1.5 in postage. In return, with every book you send, you get a credit to use in requesting books to be sent to you. Hence, the swap. To get you started though, you get 3 credits gratis as soon as you've listed 9 books. Now, I freaking love my books, but there have been books given to me as gifts that I haven't loved, not to mention regretted purchases. It was surprisingly easy to find 9 books to list, and 2 of them were on others' wishlists, so I might be in business already!
Anyway, if you decide to give this this a go, be sure to list me as a referral (either my e-mail or my PBS nickname, periwinkled). If you do, and then post 9 books, I'll get a free credit! Yay!
In closing, I'm just going to say that I had a glass of very nice champagne and planned a party tonight. Let us all hope that this was not an unfortunate blending of events. Night!
