Between the weather, IMs, and now the music...I miss Cali yet again, and now I miss going to Vegas for the weekend. I miss getting kinda dressed up to go out. I miss heading to the beach at the end of the night. I miss driving down the strip, the martini overlooking LA, the walk ups to the bar saying "Something purple with rum in it.

It's been many, many years since I've been in the midst of a tropical cyclone, known locally to me at the time as a typhoon. But the memories of being seven, eight, nine on the 23rd floor of a high rise right on the ocean as the the storm approached are still vivid. Well...fun. I worked my first and probably last Saturday shift ever. It was ok. Just, it took up ALL of my day. Really kinda depressing. Now, that's not to say it wasn't a good work day. Wasn't too busy, and we had like 7 CSR's there...3 or 4 of whom weren't trained on registers yet, so really, all I had to do was registers. Kinda fun. ( Read more... )
