My fanon is that Yuugi... At first! Suffers from control issues of the coming-too-soon kind. But Yami/Atem would work with that, teaching him how to control himself. But once Yuugi learns, he is definitely a quick study. Y/A would teach him exactly what he likes (he's a bottom in my head) or ride that boy senseless.

In my opinion, Yami Yuugi (the spirit) and Atem are two completely different people, at least from the anime perspective. Yami Yuugi is a slightly twisted, and easily succumbs to his darker emotions and powers. Compare that to Atem, who is a martyr and his wish is for there to be peace and equality. The two are NOTHING alike. lediz explores this issue really well in her story called "Ankh." (And now I want to read it...)

But, of course, you can look at it this way: Yami Yuugi is pre-finding-out-his-name and Atem is post-finding-out-his-name. :D

Yami is so a bottom. Yuugi is entire world. He's so the person to go, "MY BODY IS READY. TAKE ME NOW."

How a 3000 year old Egyptian ghost is current and up-to-date on all the modern bar games and methods of cheating baffles me. Sometimes I think Yami went out and did a lot of hilariously illegal things while possessing Yuugi's body. For... research purposes. haha

That's another thing to add to my argument. For a while there, with Yuugi promising Yami his memories, he really was Yuugi in that sense. Granted, it becomes moot when Yami finds out he's a Pharaoh, but for a brief moment, he was simply Yuugi Mutou and it was something he took comfort in.

I have this story idea in my head where Yami does go out on the town to seedy little bars to do some illegal gambling. :D

I really liked that aspect of the series too. Where Yami is just Yuugi Mutou, and he's okay with that. Especially since Yami refers to Sugoroku as "grandpa" too. ...Crap... now I have to dig up the Japanese version of the manga somewhere to see if he still uses "Jii-chan" like Yuugi does, or if he's using a more respectful version of the word... It'd be amazing if he refereed to him Sugoroku as "jii-chan". Sometimes I wonder if Yuugi makes Yami sit through class for him. lol

I forget who wrote it, but I read this fic once where Yuugi asks Yami where he got all the leather pants and buckle-shirts and collars and eyeliner from right after Yuugi solved the puzzle... And Yami sort of casually puts it out there that he's been shoplifting, since Yuugi's allowance isn't high enough to afford nice, steel-toed boots. :D;;

People gave you flack for it though?! That's ridiculous. Those people should be ashamed of themselves. That fic covers a topic which is generally implied in the manga, but never really covered in detail. Because yes. Yuugi DOES start magically wearing questionable clothes immediately after getting possessed, and nobody comments on it. And nice bondage shirts are expensive. XD;

Also yes to the dead bodies. Dude in the diner got set on fire. It wasn't implied that he lived through it. >_> People! Yugioh was supposed to have been a horror manga! That's what makes it interesting! haha At least it was polite, civil flack? XD I can kinda see where the girl is coming from, but Yami really doesn't remember anything at all, not even that he's Egyptian in the first place. So... not so much. His sense of justice early on in the manga is something like "Yuugi hurt. Yami MAD! YAMI SMASH!" Really, the only wrong he knows is Yuugi suffering. His sense of justice at that point is almost like that of a child's. Where, who cares if the punishment outweighs the crime. You did wrong, you deserve this
