Question - I've seen several people say that Lex's costume was Antony to Lana's Cleopatra. I thought he was Julius Caesar - you know, the one who was betrayed by a friend. Does anyone know for sure? Or was he Alexander the Great, which was my first thought before seeing Lana.
Anyway...
This isn't really a missing scene. It's more of a coda to the episode.
Lex woke and smiled at the sight of Lana sleeping next to him. She'd looked beautiful in her Cleopatra costume the night before.
The costume ball had been a success. The only bad moment was when he spoke to Oliver, who once again had to bring up the inflatable doll story. You'd think that one of his ex-schoolmates would have matured enough to wonder why Lex had displayed the inflatable sex toy so prominently. The ruse had worked, too. His collection of dildos had never been discovered.
Thinking of dildos made his mind wander to his confrontation with Clark. When Lex had been informed by Security that Clark was heading for the greenhouse, Lex had quickly abandoned his work, left the castle, jogged across the lawn, and silently entered through the backdoor. He still couldn't believe Clark had once again trespassed on Luthor property. Didn't Clark realize that Lex didn't want to see him again?
Lex was, of course, innocent of what Clark had accused him of doing. Clark hadn't noticed a very plain looking plant that, under the right conditions, mutated and spread, infecting crops with a disease that only a certain type of LuthorCorp product could cure.
It gave Lex intense pleasure to remember Clark's face when Lex had told him that he was no longer welcome. After telling Clark that he wasn't welcome, telling him to leave felt almost as good.
Now, here he was, in bed with Clark's ex-girlfriend.
Lana opened her eyes and looked at him. "You seem extremely happy... I mean, satisfied this morning."
"Why do you say that?"
"You're humming." A slight frown appeared on Lana's face. "Lex, why are you humming 'I Will Survive'?"
