Let's see if these plans are definite
So at a breakfast meeting this week I met the Director of Graduate Studies for Marquette University. She directs the Graduate program for Communications. And she is very interested in having me as a prospective student for Fall 2008. We talked Graduate Assistantships (which would help in my quest to be a professor one day) and we also talked about the Trinity Fellowship program. So we'll see what happens. I'm very excited to think about going back to school. I already have my Master's Thesis topic and I want to get a few research grant opportunities pegged down for when I start working on it.
In other news: At a luncheon this week I met a woman who directs a non profit that is looking for PR and marketing help. So we exchanged business cards (tra la la la) and hopefully that will develop into something. I'm also in the midst of setting up volunteering at a nursing home where I will give presentations on the various countries/cities I visited in Europe. A kind of "if the Mohamed can't go to the mountain, bring the mountain to Mohamed" thing.
Good times. Gettin' plugged in to Milwaukee. Have I mentioned I never thought about Milwaukee as a future residence?
