then mission f**king accomplished. I whined earlier that I was maybe not hitting the routines hard enough, as evidenced by a lack of muscle soreness/fatigue in the days following said routines (which, when present, are generally indicative of a job well done).
In my quest to address this concern, I've (re?)learned two things:
1. any routine involving barbell deadlifts should not be taken lightly. All subsequent exercises should either not involve a reliance on a strong grip (shrugs) or I should be equipped with straps.
2. 'going heavy' in the same routine with an average rest period of 35 seconds to 1 minute will result in cataclysmic soreness the next day.
I was supposed to work traps on day 2 (Back, Traps, Abs), but couldn't effectively because of the grip issue. I was supposed to do 3 days in a row, but didn't make it yesterday because I was feeling like a 2-ton truck parked was parked on me.
Overall lesson learned: plan better before taking dramatic measures of any kind. Also, jumpstart the goddamned yoga thing.
