Merry HoHo (weekend recap)
Spent most of the weekend up with the folks...all four of them, not in the same room ofcourse..but it was good. Christmas was better this year...less upset people, less just going through the motions. I managed to get all my christmas shopping done (barely) and was made once again for the 5th time this holiday season to feel like an ass at work..not intentionally mind you, but when people get you cards and chocolate and popcorn and gifts, and you don't have anything for them..you feel like a dolt...granted, those I got stuff from were not the people I'd have expected so even had I been more prepared, it still woulda sucked.
Got a ride up with Tray to my dad's house, was nice seeing her again on the way up..it was brief..but such is christmas..on the way up my cell phone died, literally...telus finally got their way with that phone..so on boxing day i set out with my mother to replace it and succeeded rather well. I now have a camera phone..
As for the rest of my christmas haul besides money, I swear my friends and family want me to become an alcoholic...I got shotglass chess from my parents, and wine glasses and a bar caddy thing from Jill to go with the other spinning drinking game she bought me for mine birthday...btw...I will need to have a party in the early new year (preferably after first aid to celebrate having my life back maybe) to test out said toys...I'll be curious to know if I can make it past the pawns in the chess game.
We had 3 dinners, 3 days in a row..I ate far to much for my own good and really needed today off just to recover. In bright news, the office is dead..most people took the week off. I had quite a chill day...and shall have one tomorrow, then its off to Calgary...that's going to be a long long drive..probably will top the longest drive i've ever been on. New Year's should be fun..had some chats as to what plans are and what not...should be quite good. I'm excited for the visit...I think it'll be good.
