Gratefuls (with thanks to elisem)

I'm grateful to people like elisem where I can snag neat ideas like this for posts: http://elisem.livejournal.com/1566428.html

I'm grateful for sunny days.

I'm grateful for my husband who loves me even though I'm weird. (or maybe because I'm weird).

I'm grateful for my daughters who have grown up into amazing people.

I'm grateful for 37 years with my oldest daughter (the pediatrician at the hospital where she was born said she would not live to see two, and if she managed that feat, she would definitely not live to see ten years old - she's the subject of Another Blog )

I'm grateful for reasonably good health, and a guardian angel with a warped sense of humor, and amazing doctors; if events had been even a little different I could have been already dead for a decade or more.

I'm grateful for friends I can call on the phone, and whether it's been ten years or ten days, we can pick up where we left off, for friends who drop everything, take vacation time and travel to the ends of the earth to be with me when i need them (Florida isn't exactly the end of the earth, but when you weren't planning on going there at all, it comes close), for friends who go shopping with me, and the ones who went shopping for me when I needed it, for the people who were friends then but drifted off in different directions, and for friends I have yet to meet.

I'm grateful for the friends who live in my computer, those I've met face to face and those I've not, who send me encouraging emails, who call me on the phone just to ask  "Are you OK?" because I haven't posted in a while.

I'm grateful for books and beads and crochet projects, and even computer games, for helping keep me sane and alive through the darkest hours.

I'm grateful for things I am good at, because they make me feel better about myself,  (see beads and crochet) for the things I was good at, because they remind me that things change, and there may be more "things I am good at" in my future.

I'm grateful for my grief because it means I am human, I am alive, I can feel and I DID have those thirty seven years with Margret to love her, make memories, see her smile, hear her laugh, watch her grow and learn and be useful and do good things.

I'm grateful for every ~today~ I am given, because you never know about those tomorrows.

I am grateful for all the good in my life, and even the bad, (although if you offered me a chance to change some of the bad bits I might take you up on it ) because the sum of all those bits and my reactions to them have made me the person I am right now, and I kinda like me.
