Ad Astra April 9-11th
Some of you may or may not know, but I've assumed the position of Masquerade Director for this year's Ad Astra convention.
And I'm looking for a few good people to lend a hand.
First and foremost, I'm looking for entrants for the Masquerade, nothing says 'you're doing a good job' than bigger numbers for the masq. Have a costume you wanna test out on stage? Have a costume you wanna wear, but maybe not compete in? why not show it in the masq out of competition... I want numbers though, please don't be shy.
BUT -- on a volunteer note--
In exchange for couple of hours of your weekend, I can offer you a $25 weekend membership.
I'm specifically looking for greenroom help of the reliable and somewhat decent amount of responsibility. But don't let this scare you..
I'm in need of
-someone to work with our AV guy running the audio for the masq
-someone to handle greenroom check'ins
-maybe some den moms
-maybe some reg desk help
I realize some of you may be ninja'ing, but I was wondering if one or two of you might be interested in shifting greenroom-way if the ninja numbers are big enough. Or helping at the reg'desk for an hour or two...
I've got a nice group of people helping already, but I'm hoping for a few important positions to be filled with people who know what's going on -- not that I don't already love the people helping, don't get me wrong... :) they're just a little newb'ish for a couple of the positions.
Wrangling contestants for the masq is something else I'm hoping we can accomplish.. there are so many people in costumes at the con, we need to net them for the masq as well - bring them into the fold and let them experience the masq aspect of the con that we love so much.
OR the Lightning Round!! ! People just don't know about this super fun event... Awareness is key this year.
Anyhoo, if you're planning on coming this year, and would be willing to help me out, please let me know ASAP, so I can get you on my staff list.
