War of the Ring
So, besides one "Scary Ass Cradle"... I was also given a couple of way cool gifts from my *giggle* husband.
He got me a mug from the Bux that I've been wanting for some time (it's a ceramic mug with a handle that looks like a 16oz 'Grande' to-go cup), a pair of supermini dice for my growing collection. That would be a perfect prop for one of those pretty dolfies...heh... not that I thought of that... heh... not that I think they're pretty and maybe sorta want one to make pretty clothes for... heh...
...anyway...
And I got this!
We're starting to make our own collection of games, and I've been eyeing this one forever! *claps and cheers*
We broke it open on sunday and tried out a game - and MAN! Is that game ever HUGE! There's so much to it!
We played for a good four hours, trying to hash out all of the rules and get through a game (we weren't using all aspects of the game either, more the simpler Risk-like rules) and MAN... four hours and no where near done.
I'm still so psyched to play this though. It's very shiny and has lots of little pieces. (I was playing the 'Shadow' realm, and got to play with Nazgul , warg riders and Mumakils... not to mentions easterlings, orcs, and trolls...AWESOME -- no Balrog though, disappointing... the world needs more Balrog)
On friday I have a date at my local game store with "Andy" and he's going to show me all the ins and outs of the game hopefully, so I'll be completely versed in all things WotR-like.
I'm pretty excited actually. I really wanna broaden my gaming horizons.
Maybe I'll be luck enough to pick up some new games too while I'm there. I need my own copy of Settlers...and Carcassonne... and Dread Pirate! (This one looks especially piratical)
Anyone have any game suggestions? What sort of games do you guys like playing? What should I think about getting for my collection?
