A Cause for Celebration?
I know this is going to be really weird but this is so exciting right now! So ok, I should start from the beginning because then it will make sense. So here goes:
About a week or two ago, an ad first appeared in our local paper, advertising a open position that based ont the qualifications listed, I was a perfect candidate for. I hesitated at first because I didn't think I'd even hear from them if I applied because I had applied twice before for other positions and not even got a call about it at all. Finally last week, after seeing that the ad was still running, I decided to go on a whim and put myself out there and applied. I had to mail the application/resume so I mailed it Wednesday on my way to work. Fast forward to today. I was off and went shopping with my dad for Christmas related things among other things (which will get another post of its own later on) and came home to messages on the answering machine. I wasn't too surprised as I was expecting messages because I was expecting a call. However, I was surprised by one of the messages as there was a message from the editor to whom the resumes had to be sent. Basic summation of his call was because he had received my resume and wanted to schedule an interview for this coming Wednesday morning! I called back and left a message for him to return his call and confirm that Wednesday would work for me if it would work for him and then didn't expect to hear from him again until tomorrow morning. Well about a half-hour later, he called back and firmed up the details! So Wednesday morning, I have a JOB INTERVIEW!!! Woohoo! This could potentially be my ticket out of the place I currently work! I am not counting my chickens before they hatch but hell, an interview is an interview! Woohoo! And rest assured, I will keep you guys updated on what happens! :)
