If you own a Grand Am DO NOT RECHARGE THE AIR CONDITIONER YOURSELF!
first finding the valve is fucking next to impossible, then when you do that getting the fucking hose connected to it takes forever and you get freon sprayed all over your hands. Even with my long skinny arms reaching down there to attach it took me like 20 tries.
Then when you do get the hose attached, you have to turn on the fucking car and wait 3 min while the pressure gauge stabilizes, and you worry about the can of freon gas getting too hot and exploding. Then, when the pressure gauge stabilizes you have to break the seal on the can buy turning this wing nut like thing all the way down then slowly open it to let gas in. and all the while your fucking hand is accidentally getting cut by the serpentine belt because you only have like 5 inches of space to turn the fucking nob.
