DOCTOR WHO AUDIO ADVENTURES = CRACK.

Apr 10, 2011 13:01

So I've been secretly indulging myself in Doctor Who Audio Adventures over the past few weeks. They're like crack. Deliciously wonderful ear crack for my rabid inner Whovian. I've already listened to The Sirens of Time and Winter of the Adept, which were actually pretty cool as their own seperate stories. I REALLY enjoyed the bits with 5, 6 and 7 interacting in Sirens. Six doesn't actually sound like a total douche like on the TV episodes. Going to listen more of his audios in the near future.

There was a wonderful person that had a whole bunch of them on DailyMotion, as well as Classic Who, New Who, Confidentials, and SJA episodes (even the Peter Cushing films!). But sadly, I found out yesterday when I wanted to finish Phantasmagoria (Five and Turlogh story!) and move on to an Eighth Doctor story that all of the audio adventures were taken down! (Possibly due to copyright issues.) D:

So I went to Big Finish and bought a few of the cheap  £5 ones: Phantasmagoria (download), The Maltese Penguin (Sixth Doctor & Frobisher!) and Shada (Eighth Doctor) (CDs). Also got some of the cheap £0.99 downloads: The Word Lord (Seventh Doctor) and Mission of the Viyrans (Fifth Doctor)!

Also searched on Google to find some downloadable ones on random torrent / file sharing sites.

Then I came accross this one, immedietly downloaded it onto my mp3 and listened to it at 2 am:

THIS.

OMFG. TEAM TARDIS OF 1983 IS FINALLY BACK TOGETHER. OH HELLS YES.

AND EVIL! FIVE.

(NO. DEFINATELY not that one.)

I'M TALKING ABOUT MARA!FIVE.

...

NO REALLY.

(Okay, I now this is a pic from "Kinda", but just try to imagine Evil! Five trying to corrupt Tegan, or the other way around, or that Tegan's already corrupted and they're conversing with each other... You get the picture.)

ZOMFG EVIL/MARA POSESSED FIVE.

OR BETTER YET, EVIL! PETER DAVISON!  D:>

I COULDN'T FREAKING SLEEP FOR HOURS AFTER HEARING HIM DO THE MARA LAUGH AT THE END OF ACT 1.

I SWEAR TO GOD IT WAS SO FUCKING CREEPY.

AND IT GOT EVEN CREEPIER IN ACT 3 WHEN EVIL!FIVE TRIED TO TRICK TURLOGH THAT FIVE HAD BROKEN THROUGH THE MARA'S CONTROL FOR A BRIEF SECOND, AND WAS COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY WEAK, TINY AND HELPLESS. AND THEN HE WAS ALL: "GOTTCHA, BITCH!"

AND SHEEP!NYSSA AND TURLOGH WERE LOLTASTIC. (According to the CD extras, they had the bodies of sheep, BUT WITH NYSSA AND TURLOGH'S HEADS ATTACHED. Okay, I know they were in Mara!Tegan's dream BUT SERIOUSLY, WTF?)

On the other hand, Sarah Sutton plays a very good sheep! XD

I still freaking love you, Peter Davison. You're a fantastic actor and Doctor... and now, villain!
(And great work to everyone else on the project, especially Janet Fielding (Tegan Jovanka). You have to do more of these kinds of things more often.)

Is it stupid of me that I actually want to BUY the CD now to support the cast, even though I already have downloaded the audio FREE on my computer? *headdesk*

(Now I want to get Cobwebs and The Whispering Forest so that I have the whole cast reunion audios... so far.)

"The Mara is in all of us, deep in our minds. In our darkest thoughts, that’s where it started. Some people call it a demon, but that’s too simple. It’s about temptation."
