Birthday and rant.
Trent had his 22nd birthday party today at Busch Gardens. Of course, I got sick the night before. Trent and Marie both had colds several weeks ago, but I never got so much as a sniffle. But as soon as Mom gets sick, I catch it?! But I only had a sore throat this morning, so I went to the theme park anyway!!! That showed it!
Actually it didn’t. My throat is worse (even though I made a point not to scream on the coasters, wtf), my face is congested, and I’ve got a fever. X| But it was worth it. I hadn’t ridden on any Busch Gardens roller coasters before, and we did all of them today. Montu was my favorite. Sheikra would have been at the top of my list, but it was too short.
Here’s a public service announcement: Don’t go see The New World. If you could get a whale to poop onto a movie screen, the result would be this "film." I swear to God, there were five lines of dialogue and about a paragraph of plot. It was essentially two and a half hours of unedited camera footage! Most of the sound in that movie was not dialogue but inner monologue. I’m not even kidding, guys. It’s a voiceover of Colin Farrell talking about how he wants to discover Pocahontas’ new world. Oh, and James Horner’s recycled Braveheart score. As far as character development? It seems they couldn’t fit any in between all the random nature shots. I could find more character in a Discovery Channel special.
Colin Farrell was born for the sole purpose of annoying me.
