12/30/13
Just caught the aftermath of what I assume was a pedestrian hit by a car up on 15th. Hell I would've seen it happen had I been not looking down.
Be careful out there - there are endless amounts of HIGHLY unaware people blindly piloting hundreds of pounds of metal. Typically with divided attention.
Most people I see walking down the street are staring at their phone, lucky to even look up to cross the street.
A friendly reminder to be aware of your surroundings. Especially tomorrow. You don't want to be that person everyone's stopped to watch get strapped into a stretcher. Whether you're driving, walking, biking, whatever - have your wits about you!
Something my friend Aleesha said once that I think of literally every time I'm walking down the street absorbed in my phone screen was something along the lines of "the world is much too beautiful to be staring at a screen everywhere you go."
