Goodbye and Hello
Like everyone else in my little corner of fandom, I was absolutely dumbfounded when almond_joyz called this afternoon to tell me of the passing of simons_flower. She and I had never met, but she was one of my earliest LJ friends and we'd commented on each other's journals for years. She was adorable and funny and could write smokin' hot fic. There was a big, gaping hole made in Fandom today, and simons_flower will be missed horribly. Other people have done a much better job of expressing my feelings than I ever could. Many of you were really close to her, and I'm hurting for you all, too.
Trisha was among the people we talked about at dinner tonight. I met cmere, reallycorking, shes_gone and my new friend peccatrixjusta who is absolutely adorable, for dinner and then HBP at the IMAX. I didn't get much out of the 3D scenes, but the 60 feet of Dan is always nice. :D
So it was a day of mixed feelings for me. Hopefully, tomorrow will be better.
