Well, technically, since it's now 12:03 in the AM, it's no longer Chinese New Year. Instead, it's another start to a long week...
Sorry I haven't been updating lately. Quite honestly, I just haven't found the time. I've been busy lately with my practicum, school, and work. Now, I'm learning that I'm having that crazy family from Maine (who was just in New York for New Year celebrations) coming here on Thursday. So, since I have no idea what my week is looking like entirely, I have to make sure that I fit them in somewhere. It sounds so cold, doesn't it?
But let me tell you this...
This Friday (the one FULL day they are going to be at my house) is the one day that I'm leaving early in the morning and coming home late. So, who can say that they feel bad for me? Noone?!?!
Oh well...
I've been meaning to write so much a lot earlier this last week. I think I actually told Chivon that I would be writing on Valentine's Day! (Obviously I didn't get around to that- Mom was home and had to use dial-up, which of course, left me with no internet connection!) So, I had put off writing until I had an opportunity.
As stated before, I started my main practicum. And this Friday, I'm making my trip up to Winsted a bit earlier... I'm actually meeting with Patti Owens to discuss my application for graduation. That's right, I'm applying for graduation! And if all goes well, then I will be walking across some stage on May 24th. Wish me luck.
ASL Live! has been busy. We already have some shows set up... and boy is it getting to be "exciting". So far, we were asked to perform at the "Mr. CAD pageant" at the American School for the Deaf on March 17th. On April 21st, ASL Live! is performing at Northwestern as a fund raiser for the Andrew Foster school in Nigeria. May 4th, we perform at Lewis Mills High School. (That's all I know about it so far...) And the biggest event for us seems to be on June 2nd. The Deaf Expo (anyone involved with the Deaf community comes to this event) has asked us to come perform! Thousands of people flock to this event. So, for them to contact us and ask... nervous breakdown anyone?!?! But it's good publicity for our group.
Most days, I feel like a chicken with my head cut off... running around in circles, unsure how I'm going to make it through the day. And yet, somehow, I always do. I need a vacation.
