Hey kids,

Remember that "fearless" advertising strategy announced last semester? How the administration promised that "fearless" wouldn't be used as a slogan in and of itself, but rather as a general theme to their other ads? How it wouldn't be taking the place of the old slogan, "Think one person can change the world? So do we"?

Word. As Johanna said, the website looks like they hired the U.S. Army to do our advertising.

Do you know where that link came from? I couldn't find it linked anywhere on the Oberlin main website, including the admissions page. So is it a pre-release or something, or is it just printed on pamphlets and otherwise hard to find?

My guess is that it's printed on the new viewbooks and that someone with access to one started spreading the word. My understanding is that the viewbooks haven't been mailed yet, so we're all seeing this before the prospies are, unless they're reading the Oberlin LJ too.

I do feel like the essential message of this campaign is that Oberlin is sick of guys like me, but the thing that bothers me most is the prominence of "environmental studies."
