OK, so here is my weekend update since
RebelPrivateer is complaining that I am not updating enough for him! LOL!
Thursday- boring and mundane... did tons of errands! Had lunch with a long lost scrap booking friend of mine at my favorite local pagan spot... Body, Mind, & Spirit and Mocha & More! While we were there I enjoyed a particularly delicious chicken salad sammy on a croissant, DJ had a wonderful chicken noodle soup, and we shared a dessert while he enjoyed his Italian ice drink and I had a delicious SF/DC white chocolate and raspberry Latte! YUMMMMMMM!!!! It was nice to meet up with Theresa again, it has been a long time and she was super excited about my transformation. Although she never did see me at my highest, she can more than sympathize with what I want through to get this far. Afterwards, DJ and I headed back to post to his P/T conference. Upon arriving on post the security was extra tight, come to find out there was a shooting at PT that morning! HOLY COW! Don't know much about it since I was off post most of the day, but the news crews were everywhere! Anyways, DJ's parent teacher conference went well. His grades are about where we expected them to be, yet his did manage to blow away his art and music grade with an EXCEEDING the standards score. (Dept. of Defense schools no longer use the old grading scale they use: (E)xceeds grade level expectations, (M)eets grade level expectations, (S)teady progress towards grade level expectations, (L)imited progress towards grade level expectations.) Why this surprised me, I don't know. I know he is one heck of an artist, but I did not realize how much value his teachers put on his skills! WOW! Math and PE he got an "M" and everything else he got "S," which is to be expected since he is still receiving special services for his reading and speech delay. They are very impressed with his math skills and are talking abut adding some extra math homework for him b/c they worry that he is not being challenged enough. However we did discuss his failing spelling scores (he has not passed one spelling test this year). Both his regular and reading/speech teacher are not too concerned about his spelling b/c they realize that he recognizes a misspelled word. So they are just trying to discover "his way" of learning that. So right now we are going to try knocking his spelling list from 11 words to five and see if that helps or not, otherwise they are discussing making his test a multiple choice one. So we will see where that progresses to. I asked them about his social skills since he is such a “loner” at home and they assure me that he is one of the most popular kids, every fights about being his friend and he is always helping the other kids in his classroom. So I guess maybe he wants to much alone time at home b/c he is “burned out” from his day at school. I know with DJ’s disability, being in a loud, busy classroom all day takes a lot out of him. (He goes into sensory overload.) Anyways, afterwards DJ set out to get three more things done, which took all night! First we tried to buy me a pair of smaller BDUs, hubby’s are falling off of me and getting too bulky to wear at the paintball range and road marching. I went to Clothing & Sales and tried on a small and extra small. Both fit, however the small was roomier so I went for comfort over fashion! LOL! When I went to check out the lady told me they were $38, I was like… never mind, I’ll get them elsewhere. I am not paying that much for BDUs that are obsolete now! So we headed to the PX to find DJ some jeans. His dad feels that two pair is not enough. So guess what… nothing at the PX fit him. So we had to head to Wal-Mart for that. On the way to Wal-Mart I stopped at every mom & pop resale/military surplus place I could find, no one had “small regular” BDU sets or pants… grrrr… We got to Wal-mart and DJ was starving so I went to Taco Bell and got myself some beans and a taco and then we hit the McD’s in Wal-Mart for DJ’s nuggets. Goodness, at this point I had not cooked one meal since Jim left for NM. I am TERRIBLE! We shopped in the store while Jim kept blowing up my phone with text messages… kind of hard to shop when you are typing on a 1” x 2” key pad! We finally found DJ two pairs of jeans that fit, had to buy 7 slims WITH the adjustable banding… he is such a skinny twig and he is getting taller by the day! GEEZZZ!!! I also picked him up some other things that I noticed he was running out of, how does a kid lose his underwear so fast?! I think he is throwing them out when he has a “man streak” in them…lol… he is so gonna kill me for posting these things in my journal when he is older! HAHAHA! After that we headed to karate, when we got out of the car I realized that my bag was in the car but DJ’s was not, he had already fallen asleep in the 2 minutes it took to drive from Wal-Mart to the studio so I just gave up and headed home. Although as I pulled out of the lot I noticed a little Korean shop that had BDUs handing outside so I swung in there to try my luck… FINALLY I FOUND THEM! The pants look brand new but she says they are used so she charged me $8 for them. YEAH! So now I have my own BDU bottoms for paintball and road marching, yeah! Got home and put DJ in his bed for a nap, then I sat on the couch and folded laundry… well I feel asleep waiting for
Inanna_Astrea to come over and watch movies. Before I knew it, 3 hours had passed and DJ was still sleeping and Inanna was not there, so I IMed her for a bit and went to bed myself.
Friday- Well busy with more errands, paid the storage unit (2 months late but since we have a smaller unit the price with penalties for 2 months just cost me what we used to pay for one month in the old unit… no big deal there), got some groceries, got my allergy shots (got yelled at for missing 4 weeks of them), ate lunch at the hospital, looked for a shirt to wear to the club (no luck), did some more errands and then came home for a nap! Slept until I had to get up and dye my hair for the club, sent DJ over to my neighbors, showered and then waited for everyone to arrive so we could leave for Nash-Vegas. Had tons of fun with
Inanna_Astrea,
Nighteyes_70 and
KivaSierra at the Tandoor in Clarksville.
We ordered a sampling of the menu to include:
Palak Pakora (spinach fritters) ---Kiva called these shoe leather, but they happen to be my favorite things!!!
Bengan Pakoras (batter fried eggplant) ---yum!!
Garlic Naan (bread) -YUMM
Chicken Tikka Masala & Zera rice (chicken in a brown creamy sauce) ---very good, got this one spicy, we were not brave enough for HOT!
Chicken Curry & Zera rice (curried chicken with onion, tomatoes, and spices) ---very good with some kick, got this one spicy too!
Shahi Quarma (homemade cheese with nuts and milk)--- aka “dog vomit”…LOL… but tasted AMAZING!!! We got this one in mild.
Benazir Badami Kheer (special rice and carrots dessert cooked in a milk with raisins served cold) -sounds weird but it is really good, normally it is the consistency of oatmeal but the server said it was made fresh that day and had not had a chance to set up yet so this time it was kind milky, still tasted good the consistency I am used to was just off.
Anyways, it was all GREAT and we split this bill so it ended up being affordable, just ended up ordering too much so we had to pack it all up in a box and take it to Jimmy (Kiva’s hubby) before going to the club! It would have never lasted through the night in the car…lol! So we got to see Jimmy in his boxer briefs for a bit…lol… and then we made the 1 hour trek to nashvegas. Tribe ended up being packed with tons of sexy hotties, too bad most of them did want anything to do with girls! MAN, this is where all the hot men have gone… gay! LOL! We had one drink over there but got tired of standing (it was standing room only) so we headed next door to Play. Now PLAY was interesting to say the least! The drag show was great so we watched a few sets of that and had a few drinks. Then I got ballsy and decided to play their dating game. You wear a dog tag with special “dot” stickers on them (Red = “not available”, yellow = “buy me a drink and find out”, one green = “available”, and 3 green = “TOTALLY FREE and you will definitely get some tonight, then a red star met “on top”, green star meant “on the bottom”, and a yellow star meant “anything goes”) so mine had a yellow dot with gold stars. When I was dancing the dogs tags did nothing, but when I wondered away from the pack to sit down, I had lots of conversations with men and women, it was actually kind of fun! Didn’t find any prospects for girls but maybe I will got back and try that another night! LOL! Anyways, so we danced our butts off, my boots kept killing me (they are too big for me now), met lots of nice folks, and basically wore myself out before 3am. Afterwards we headed to the Hustler store on foot. Some folks were non-to-happy but I wanted to check the store out. We only had like 10 minutes but it was a GREAT 10 minutes. I soooo can’t wait to go back and go shopping with Jim! There is so much stuff there that I want! Hehehe… anyways, we walked the block back to the truck and headed home, that was the worse drive ever… Kiva and Inanna passed out in the first couple of minutes, poor Nighteyes tried to keep himself awake for my benefit but eventually passed out to… I was not sure if I was gonna make it… tried to stop twice for a McD’s stop but nothing was open… I just needed something to drink to wake me up but no luck, so I just nursed it home. After we got home Kiva headed back to her place since she did have to work in 4 hours, Nighteyes and Inanna stayed over and we all super cuddled in bed. OUT COLD!
Saturday- We all slept in but at 8:30 I had to get up to get DJ. I am not sure but I think I finally woke everyone else up at 11am and we all showered and headed over to the Fall Festival on post. WHAT A LET DOWN! Last year was so much fun, tons of activities concerts, free stuff for the kids, a BBQ competition, etc… This year we got there at noon and all the bikers were gone (toy rally that morning), no concerts, only a handful of craft booths, EXPENSIVE but tasty BBQ (competition was the day before, during the workday, so we missed it), had to pay for a band for DJ to enjoy the activities (that sucked), no pumpkins or free activities left for DJ, and all around freaking boring! UGH! So we headed home… I pulled out stuff for dinner, DJ played in his room, and we slept or watched movies. Watched two Netflix: Sexual Matrix (a cheesy soft porn from ‘99--- WTF?!) and “Cellular” (actually pretty good sorry Inanna slept through it). Then I cooked up some low-carb fried chicken (yes it is possible) and some cheesy veggies with a side salad… it was all tasty but DJ did not like the pepper I used to season the chicken so it was like pulling teeth to get him to eat. Everyone helped with the dishes and then we said our goodbyes. Once the house was empty I set to doing laundry and eventually passed out at some point during the night. Yeah boring, I know. It was still enjoyable… I was just tired from dancing all night and not taking care of my diet like I should have!
OK so it is Sunday and I am still sitting in my jammies, fuck it, I am tired form this weekend… have not been eating right so I have no energy. I plan on eating what I am supposed to and taking it easy today. Gonna stop by Motherrabbit’s house for a bit and then I am finishing the laundry and we are hitting the sac early tonight. Gotta start back to our routines bright and early tomorrow! Oh Jim lost his $500 cell phone this weekend while in NM.... the dumb ass did not clip it to his uniform, he just slipped it between two straps, it must of fell off while he was doing aerial gunnery stuff and got swept outside the back of the aircraft when they swept out all the brass over the range they were on. So it took at 800 foot swan dive out the back of the aircraft while in flight and it is in a tan phone case and fell onto tan sand so.... the liklyhood of them finding it going a couple of hundred miles per hour over the range today is pretty damn slim! Even if they did find it, it probably got setroyed on impact. I told him to make sure that he mentions it to range control, maybe he will get luck and someone will find it. I know it is a slim chance but you never know. So basically he got his butt chewed out by me today. Our insurance on the phone will cover the replacment but it is another $50 I did not plan on spending. Damn it. Oh well, I am late to see MotherRabbit so I must go... TTYL!
