good for you! magickalmom November 15 2007, 03:49:54 UTC
Yeah I try to avoid chips but when I do partake I make sure it's less than 100 calories and high in fiber. I prefer pretzels, popcorn or something like that. I am also squeezing in fruit or veggies with my protein shakes if I can since I have little room in my tiny tummy for doing a full protein/carb/fruit or veg at one setting. Since I am so pressed for time I take a can of low-carb fruit or precooked veggies and I partition them out in single serving gladware and keep them handing in the fridge so I can snack on them when I am hungry in between meals. Of course now those in between meal snacks will be intentional. LOL!

Does your treadmill have an incline or resistance setting? If it doesn't a female at the gym gave me a tip the other day. (She is a light weight body builder.) She suggests that if you are pressed for time and only have 30 minutes a day for cardio (that is minimum what you should do) and you need to make your workout "tougher" without adding time, she suggests picking up light handweights and using them with your swinging arm motion while you are doing your treadmill. :-)

Of course the store-that-shall-not-be-named also carries a VERY affordable weight vest! Its a vest that you can gradually add these small weights to for doing walking/hiking/running that evenly spreads out the weight for a safer but more challenging workout. :-)

I'm using the treadmill at the gym at work and I have about 30 minutes to do my workout so I'm am using the incline. Tomorrow I will do the weights too and I will start my toning routine next week with at home workouts after work, so I will have 2 sessions a day.

Thanks for the tip on the software.
