Ft. Lewis Family Fun Day
OK, so the new Post CSM decided to start hosting a family fun day in order to help build moral of the families with deployed troops (ie the ENTIRE post). So the first one was last night and even though the turn out was slim, it was fun and they did a great job. It was refreshing to see the post CSM out there playing lazar tag with the kids and sitting down and making crafts with the moms. To be honest with you, this post is a ghost town and those of us who are left behind find it hard to put a smile on our faces... this guy though has a genuine heart and it showed last night. His actions and personality really did make people smile and that is definitely a ray of light through the overcast north western clouds that we’re accustomed to on this post.
DJ enjoyed his pizza and spaghetti dinner as well as the lazar tag they had set up in this giant blow up space ship.
Of course Jamie also enjoyed one slice of pizza and a bunch of salad... and the ice cream was a nice treat too. (Yes, I went to the gym right afterwards!) They also had some Wii tables sets up, crafts, a toddler/infant playroom, and so many other simple but fun activities!
