OK, so I made a "friends locked" post about Jim's job this morning and I know I was more than aggravated about it all...
[If you want to read the whole history all those entries are locked, you have to join LiveJournal --it's free-- and then friend me -- and I need to friend you back so drop me an email so I know who you are!]
..... And I am still mad but I refuse to give myself an ulcer over something until I know more. So instead of stewing I decided to start calling apartments. There is one complex that I am absolutely IN LOVE with!!! I think it is where I want to go and I am considering putting a down payment on it today since they only have a handful of the size that we want left! It is called
Sierra Sun Luxury Apts. and it is in Puyallup (which has the some of the best schools in the state). We want either the Sonora (townhouse style) or the glacier (apt style) both of which are just HUGE!
For $1450/month...
The Sonora has 3 BR, 2.5 Bath, bay windows on the front and back of the town home with 2 floors! The 1st has a huge kitchen (for an apt), dining, living room, laundry room 1/2 bath, patio with French doors leading out, fireplace, and a 2 car garage! The second floor has a master bedroom with a huge walk in closet, and a master bath, a second bathroom with two additional bedrooms with large closets (all bedrooms have bay windows), and a computer area/study in the hallway. The place has plenty of closets and additional storage out back no to mention the garage! The whole thing is 1387 square feet... not bad for a rental place!
For $1350/month...
The Glacier is an apt style place and it has 3 BR, 2 bath, single floor, with patio and at least a 1 car garage (some have a 2 car) totaling 1261 square feet (not including the garage space of course). It a master bedroom with walk in closets and it's own bathroom, a laundry room (closet, not an actual room like the other place), a secondary full bath, a bedroom next to the master, a computer desk area, dining room, kitchen, living room, and another bedroom that leads out to double French doors to the patio (or balcony if on the second floor) with a view of Mt. Rainer.
With all their apts the appliances are included so that means either selling our W/D, microwave, and stand up freezer or storing them in the garage until we find our own place (when he returns from combat). However, they said we can choose to use our own appliances but if they damage the apt in anyway (like the washer floods or something) we are liable for the damage. (There is electrical hook up in the garage so I suppose I could still use my freezer! LOL!)
Let's talk amenities here...
WiFi at the pool
8G T-3 Fiber optic internet access in all apts ($40/month)
Comcast Cable already wired in all apts. (90 channels for $35)
24 hour pool, hot tub, stand up tanning (free), state of the art fitness facilities, sauna
electric fireplaces, dishwashers, disposals, recycling, dream kitchens with eat in islands
conference rooms with plasma screen that is hooked up to PP, your own laptop, video conferancing, the whole 9 yards
Recreation building with a coffee bistro, full kitchen/entertaining center, big screen plasma (can hook up video games, has DVD and stuff), pool table, lounge, etc...
Assigned parking with guest parking available/gated community
play areas for kids
Sheltered Bus stop for the kid’s bus pick up in the morning
The lady I spoke with said the average water/sewer bill is about $35/month and the average electricity bill is $50/month so all in all it is a bit over what we were looking to spend monthly but it is HUGE, in a nice quiet area, we don't have to worry about maintanience/law care/snow or leaves removal or anything like that, most kids in the complex are DJ's age, they also have a listing of certified babysitters and dog walkers who live in the complex, they offer a $200 nonrefundable military move in rate (it holds the apt for the military member AND covers cleaning costs... so no HIGH ass first/last/and deposit rates!!!) They offer a military clause so if we move, get housing, find a house or whatever, we can break our lease with no penalty! They allow pets and it will only be $600 (300 refund/300 non-refund) for the adult dogs. The ONLY thing that sucks about the place is IF we move there we either have to get rid of Rosie or pay $2000 deposit (refundable if there is NO damage to the carpet) to cover the cost of a complete carpet replacement. EEK! Since they are crate trained, I think we will be fine, but I don't know....
Gonna have to think on that one a bit and make a decision soon. I know Jim's secretary is dying for another puppy so we can always sell her Rosie if it comes down to it. Hmmmmm... Maybe I can come up with a creative solution.
