[She's in the Slytherin Common room as per usual with a book in her lap even more as per usual. Rose hasn't really found much time to devote to these devices, as she's been rather absorbed in being a real motherfucking wizard at a real motherfucking wizard school. The girl must have plowed through a good portion of the library already. However, now ( Read more... )

[ He's been working on his homework in a different corner when the sound of the girl's voice catches his attention. Wow, she talks even more than his brother. ]

...The restricted section?

[Rose doesn't necessarily feel the need to tear her away from her current reading selection, "Wizard Blood: How the Arte of Magic is Inherited" but she'll most certainly offer a response.]

That would be what I was referring to, yes. Excellent to know my fellow Slytherin have basic comprehension skills.

[ Somehow, he feels like she might be using sarcasm... Why don't people state things simply. It wastes time, otherwise. ]

You can get special permission from the professors, if you can give a good enough reason. [ The implication there is that it does not have to be a real reason. ] Professor Snape might allow you permission, because he favors this house.

That's what I assumed, however as a lowly [Yeah Rolo can probably taste the disdain when she says that.] second year I'm bracing my attitude for the prospect of innumerable hoops that will need a brisk jump through.

Snape has made himself scarce since the inferi incident...Hopefully I can entice him out of the woodwork with scholarly fervor.

Lowly. [ He can and doesn't really understand it. He's kinda just like "whatevs". Age doesn't mean much to him. ] Ask him after your potions class.

Sounds like a logical course of action. Though it does seem fairly bereaved of the roundabout inconspicuity that I've come to revel in so dearly.

Hopefully his needless rushing about won't persist much longer...

Tell him you're researching one of the potions he's discussed. Or ask one of the less intelligent teachers. They won't notice your intentions.

[Oh. Now she's looking at you. Careful, steady lavender eyes watch him silently for a moment before she speaks up.]

At what point did I ever mention intentions befitting the need for a cover-up?

[ He's completely unfazed by the look. His own eyes, a similar shade, display no emotion. ]

Then ask a teacher directly. If you think your reason for wanting books in the restricted section will get you permission.

[Her eyes narrow at his own unfettered pair. This guy is most definitely suspicious...]

Is the reputation of the average Slytherin truly so tarnished that these sorts of assumptions are commonplace?

[ He just shrugs. ]

What does being Slytherin have to do with it? The books are restricted. To gain access, a suitable reason must be presented to a teacher. If you have one, there's no point asking the entirety of the students in staff. Asking a teacher should have been the first step.

I'm not talking about that.

You seemed to be under the impression that I was looking to gain access to the section for some nefarious means.

If whatever reason you have to read the books in the restricted section is not enough to gain permission, lying is the next best method.

So you would encourage the malicious use of restricted knowledge?
