I went on a Lord of the Rings tour of Wellington today. It was easily one of the geekiest, funniest, funnest and *best* things I have done in this beautiful country. I was lucky enough to go with my friend Trine, and we saw locations for Isengard, Rivendell, the hobbit's hiding places, got dressed up as Legolas, pretended to be a black rider and his horse, and just generally had an amazing time. We also got to go to the Weta Workshop's 'Weta Cave', which is a museum and shop and tried not to buy lots of goodies. Finished it all off with a trip to Te Papa and a wander up Cuba Street to see the famous fountain where certain LotR actors relieved their bladders. So much fun. :D
