Do fantasy novels require magic?

I created a world a while back that has no magic. The plot never really meshed with what I wanted it to become. Until the other night when I had a new plot idea and the world seemed to match the idea rather well.

The question of if magic is needed to make a story fantasy has came up though.

I'm sure I can write the idea without any magic - but would it still be labeled fantasy?

Do you need magic in a fantasy novel?
