Do you prefer a [ ]male or [ ] female stamp or [x] don't care?
Do you prefer a [ ] fantasy or [ ] sci-fi stamp or [ ] don't care or [x] both?

getting to know you
Positive characteristics: Analytical, considerate, enthusiastic, open-minded, intelligent, affable, beautiful modest, funny (hopefully), and I stick up for the underdog. People open up to me, because they know that I won’t judge them.
Negative characteristics: Sarcastic (especially when I’m nervous or uncomfortable), indecisive, self-doubting, worrier, procrastinator, impatient, stubborn. I can’t stand people who are irrational, and I can be prone to righteous indignation on behalf of my loved ones if they are hurt by someone who is careless, irrational, or blatantly cruel.
Neutral characteristics: Bookish, nerdy, introverted, introspective, realist/rational who wishes she was more optimistic and idealistic.
Quote that describes you:
“I don’t rightly know what I want, but I have something to do before the end, and it lies ahead.”
- Samwise Gamgee
Motto that you live by (if different from above): It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt.
-Abraham Lincoln

these are a few of my favorite things
Give an explanation if needed.
Color: I don’t have one; it changed to often so I stopped keeping track.
Animal: My dog, Pippin.
Mythical creature: Do hobbits count? I’d really love to run into a unicorn.
Extinct animal: Brachiosaurus.
Fantasy novel: The Lord of the Rings (Tolkien perfected the genre). I also adore Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series.
Sci-fi novel: I love Perelandra by C.S. Lewis, and I love H.G. Wells’s works also.
Other novel: The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins, Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier, and The Plague Dogs by Richard Adams (but honestly, I have too many to really decide).
Fantasy movie: I love The Return of the King and Pan’s Labyrinth.
Sci-fi movie: Star Trek II and VI (hm…both were directed by Nicholas Meyer…what a coincidence!)
Other movie: Master and Commander, Rudy, and Finding Nemo at the moment.
Fantasy/Sci-fi tv show: I love Star Trek: TOS, Alias, and LOST.
Other tv show: NCIS is hilarious, House has moments of television brilliance, and I’m addicted to Heroes as if it were some sort of really destructive, mind-numbing drug.
Time period: I love the Napoleonic War and 19th Century in general.
Non-fantasy/sci-fi hero and heroine: I love Stephen Maturin from Master and Commander and the rest of the books by Patrick O’Brien. My favorite heroine is Marian Halcombe, from The Woman in White.
Song with a sample of lyrics:
“Bangs
Are that on which the world hangs
I’m only holding your hand
So I can look at your bangs”
-TMBG, “Bangs”
(I love that they don’t take themselves too seriously)

this or that
Are you more -there is room for both; please explain.
Abstract or Concrete: Abstract
Adventurous or Homey: Homey with a thirst for adventure deep down. I need a friend to drag my out the door.
Agreeable or Distant: Both. It depends on my mood.
Cheerful or Melancholy: Somewhere in the middle, usually.
Clever or Pretty: I certainly value cleverness more.
Concise or Wordy: I’m very good at using my words when I prepare and make an effort, but sometimes I can run on.
Creative or Traditional: I’m creative, but I don’t always like to push the envelope drastically.
Emotional or Logical: I try to use logic when making decisions, because I don’t trust my emotions.
Extroverted or Introverted: Introverted
Fighter or Lover: A friend does both, and at the right time.
Flexible or Stubborn: I can go with the flow occasionally, but I can be stubborn
Free-spirited or Practical: I’m not much of either. I’m a little low on common sense sometimes, but I have much more than a lot of people I know.
Goody-two-shoes or Naughty: Goody-two-shoes, without a doubt. That doesn’t mean I don’t have a bit of a sailor mouth around my friends.
Helpless or Independent: Independent, but I do need support from my friends and family.
Impulsive or Planner: Both
Mental or Physical: Mental
Modest or Vain: Modest
Subdued or Vivacious: Subdued, but when I’m really excited about something, I open up and seem more confident and outgoing.

test me; know me
The follow questions are optional - if you know the answer, please respond. If you are unsure, feel free to leave blank.
What is your Myers-Briggs personality type? Would you agree? ( Test ) I’m becoming a bit of a Myers-Briggs nerd, haha. I identify with the INTP type.
What are your highest intelligences according to Gardner? Musical and Linguistic (that make sense; I’ve played the violin for 11 years and I’ve always been an avid reader)
What is your alignment? True Neutral. I think it fits my mood right now more than it fits my essential personality, deep down.
Do you have any siblings? What order are you? I have one younger sister, which makes me the eldest.
Would you consider yourself religious or spiritual? I struggle a lot with religion, because I’ve known so many great people with all sorts of beliefs, and it’s hard for me to understand certain organized religions’ animosity between denominations or regarding other religions. I’m a theist, but beyond that. I very conflicted.

would you rather
Sacrifice yourself to save your friends or save them by marrying the villain? Hm, for some reason it seems unrealistic that I’d get that sort of a choice. That would depend on the villain and the specific situation.
Fight to the death or have someone else rescue you? Both! Please!
Live in a land of deadly dinosaurs, atrocious aliens, or mythical monsters? Mythical monsters, followed by deadly dinosaurs.
Wear a crown or corset or combat boots? Or all three? Combat boots. I usually prefer to dress a little more sophisticated an feminine, but who in their right mind would submit to wearing a corset when given the choice? Not me.
Sneak into the enemy’s lair or break down the front door guns a-blazing? Sneak in with a bunch of guns.
Have superpowers and have thousands of enemies or be ordinary and forgettable, but safe? As long as I have friends to support me, I don’t mind either.
Live with your loving family, but never leave home or not have anyone close to you, but go on adventures? I’d choose a loving family over no one being close to me.

the hero in all of us
Would you travel in a group or be a loner? What role in the group would you fill? I’d be an intelligent loner in a group.
What would be your costume? Something that makes sense in terms of the job at hand.
What would be your weapon of choice? Something long-range.
Would you have a sidekick or pet? I’d rather have a best friend.
Any special powers? Nah.
If you could invent any device, what would it be and what would it do? I’d invent a device that would act sort of like a metal detector, but it would detect anything you told it to.
What sub-genre would you be a part of? (romance/comedy/action…) Adventure with some comedy. Not much romance, I don’t think. Just BFFery.
What conflict would you prefer? (man v. man, man v. wild…) Man v. Man and Man v. Self.
