Mud Season

Well... Now into the freezing/thawing cycle that we call "mud season". About a month or so. The roads have heaved so badly that you cannot go 35, unless of course, you like bouncing your head on the ceiling ( Read more... )

Keyboards are cheap. You can get one for about 5 bucks. In fact, one of my neighbors just gave me a computer, monitor and a remote keyboard for free. It's an HP P4, so it's not that old. I prefer the ergonomic keyboards. Last time I bought one of those it was about 30 bucks.

I was just looking on ebay yesterday. My old Les Paul is worth quite a bit. I don't think I'll ever part with it, because of the sound.

I find that writing in Live Journal is therapeutic. Not only can I get things out, but I get advice. Plus, I've gotten more than a few free jetliner rides and have had some incredible adventures! You never really know what will happen, but my experience, overall, has been pretty good! Yeah, sure there's been drama, but that's what life's all about! If there wasn't any drama, life would be pretty damn boring, wouldn't it?

Take care...

Duane

Heh, just enough information, but I ment-my Korg Dw8000. Analog/digital hybrid from 1986. A really classic instrument.

I had a 1969 SG standard. I wished I hadn't sold it, but it wasn't much good after I wrecked my left hand in a car accident.Crushed my wrist rolling my car over. Wasn't reckless driving, just a blind corner, a hill, and 3 DOT trucks in the road blocking all lanes, and no signage. The court said my reflexes at not hitting a bunch of guys was pretty remarkable.

In any event, I am some cautious now. That was in '84. Can't believe it...

Maybe you could buy another one (even another sick one) and either use it instead or use it for parts to repair your old one. There's
one on ebay right now
, at $75, still 2 days away. If you're patient you could probably find one for cheap. Save the search on ebay and tell it to email you whenever it finds new matches.

Btw, glad to see you're still around too.

*Hello There!*
I bought a rack version of it off E-Bay in the spring. All the good things said about the seller were moot, as IT didn't work. So I'm not so impressed with E-Bay. There's a lot of trouble with keeping older gear going, and in my case the key controll chips have died, so only a few work. Also they soldered batteries to the circuit boards, which i hear are damn near impossible to re-place without ruining the mounting tabs. I have contacted various techs, and been told it just isn't worth it.

Supposedly some new digital units can produce the kind of waveforms I made with it, but I spent my $ on car and house-work, and these fine coastal land taxes.

Good to hear from you ! How's Boston ?
