I'm still working on the third draft of TAINTED FROST (TF). I'm still excited about it, which I cannot believe at times, because I've been working on it for over two years now. I had to take a break from revising my novel to write for money, but now I'm back on track. I did have some time to read about half of my novel, and there are a lot of passages (and even entire chapters) that I want to keep.  I started revising TAINTED FROST a few weeks ago. It's so exciting! I can't believe how much I love revising. I always thought I would hate it because before I started writing novel-length fiction, revising seemed like a chore.  I can't believe I used to think that rewriting a first draft from scratch would be a waste of time. It's not! It's more rewarding than I could have ever imagined because this time around I can see that my book is so much better. The voice is stronger, the details are more concrete and vivid, and the story is more coherent overall. The best part ( Read more... )

 So I've been revising my first WIP, and though it's moving slowly, it's going pretty well. Today I finished rewriting my first chapter. I have to say I like it a lot more than my previous version.  And it is not good. What I mean by that is that it's absolutely TERRIBLE. Horrendous. Ghastly. Atrocious. And every other word Simon Cowell has ever hurled at a tone-deaf singer.

 Tra la la! I just finished transcribing the first draft of my first novel ever. What I've learned from this process: I despise transcribing. I will never ever ever handwrite 10K words ever again (my total word count is 59,894).
