"And God said to Noah, "The end of all flesh
has come before Me, for the earth is filled
with violence through them; and behold, I will
destroy them with the earth." Gen 6:13
It amazes me that people think God will never punish
sinners because He is a loving God and sending people
to Hell is not a loving thing to do. Tell that to
Noah's pre-flood world. Here were generations of people --
not far removed from Adam -- who had abandoned God.
Every conceivable sin was committed every day. It was
so bad that God had to search to find Noah -- and Noah
found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Genesis tells us
that God regretted even creating man in the first place.
So He decided to destroy the earth and all of it's
contents -- especially man. Why, because of the evil
inherent in man.
So God told Noah to build a boat -- a big boat -- one
that would hold his family and enough land and air
creatures to repopulate the earth. And Noah did as
he was told. And God did what He proposed. I wouldn't
want to have been on the earth the day the rains came.
All the taunting of Noah and his family turned to shouts
of mercy, then screams of terror, then . . . . silence --
nothing but the pounding of the wind and the rain and the
raging seas.
God has promised that He would never again judge the
world -- by sending a flood. He never promises that
He will never judge the world. He will. I pray that
I am on the good side of God on that day for many
will shout at God when judgment is handed down
against them. Then they will scream as they are
cast into the pits of Hell along with satan and
all his demons.
Why would God do that? Because He said He would --
and He keeps His promises. If He failed to do that,
He would be a liar. If He were a liar, He would not
be perfect. If He were not perfect, He could not be
God -- and He is. Now the final question: if today
were the day of judgment, how would the ruling come
down for you? Guilty -- or covered by the Blood of
Jesus? If you are reading this and you think "guilty",
it's not too late. You can turn to God, ask Him to
forgive you, and He will apply the Blood of Jesus
to you that you might be redeemed. Then on judgment
day you will hear the words "Well done good and faith-
ful servant. Enter in to the place I have prepared
for you." Amen.
