Terrible, horrible...

no good, very bad.

Yeah.

So I was in a pretty decent mood when I got up this morning. New impending president, felt well-rested.

Went to go take a shower an hour before work, looked out the window and realized -

My car is gone.

After hyperventilating, I proceed to call the police, and before I can say "I need to report a stolen vehicle," the operator cuts me off.

"It was towed. Bridges and Hilton, right?"

"Uh, yes."

"It's at Henry's towing, call them."

"Can I ask *why* I was towed?"

"You were dangerously parked. ::click::"

I call the towing place and am informed I have to hike over there (a little less than a mile) and pay them the towing fee - $120.

I walk over there, pay (in cash) and then retrieve my car, where there is a $50 parking ticket.

$15 for facing the wrong way.
$15 for being too far from the curb (I wasn't)
$15 for being within 20 ft of an intersection (like the other cars next to mine, incidentally, neither ticketed or towed).
Total $50 (hm, math senses tingling)

The situation was that I share a very small pair of parking spaces with the neighbor. There was little room to park last night anyways, and someone parking directly across the street from my space made it impossible to get in (my usual space was unavailable as there is a winter parking ban in effect for my half of the street). So I parked on the only part of the street that was available. I got up, and saw my car around 12:30. The ticket was marked as 12:52 pm. At 1:10, I noticed my car was gone. The cop ticketed me and *immediately* had me towed. As a result of the fact that it's the first week of the parking ban and that I was blocked out, i will contest the ticket, seeing as I had to shell out all that money for the towing of a whole mile.

The real kicker is - which bill do I choose to not pay? This little snafu means I can't afford all my bills.]

Rock the fuck on.
