So in lieu of a Sunday night dinner this weekend, we decided instead to make a game plan of going into Boston - Halloween costume shopping. I went with Rachäl, Lina, and Lina's friend Dylan - and a special guest - Paul, who decided that despite exhaustion, he would crash our gathering. I picked up Rachäl last night, and we lounged around watching Little Britain and such, and then this morning, we had breakfast, before heading out to Lina's place to drive her to the T station. Paul met us in Cambridge and we went to the costume store where I picked up some things to make my costume. I decided to do full blown drag, using a purple and silver wig and a purple getup with a feather boa. My decided drag name will be Violetta LeThrob. After that, we headed to a restaurant for our dinner reservations (I think it was called the Union Oyster House or something like that), and on the way, Paul referred to me as his boyfriend (insert squeal of delight here).
We went to an extremely fancy and expensive restaurant for dinner, where Paul insisted he would pay. The service was crappy and the prices were outrageous, but we had such an effing blast, it made up for it. Paul insisted on paying for my meal, which was sweet. Afterwards, we took a group photo, before we all split up. It was a great shot, we all had a great time. Rachäl and I went to Lina and Justin's place where we played Super Munchkin and did martial arts stuff before taking off.
A few details-
So far, things are going amazingly with Paul. I'm quite taken with the boy, and I'm doing a good job of not being crazy obsessively into him or acting like some lovesick 15 year old. It's a real mature relationship (holy crap) so far.
My friends are amazing. We had so much fun, I'm so glad they thought we should all get together and do this. I can't afford it regularly, but it was just a wonderful time, and so nice. And I like that it wasn't the standard sunday night dinner. I don't want to feel like it's just about the food, and stuff like this reminds me It's just about being with the people who make your day.
This is an amazing video, to boot.
