the events in the upcoming weekend of the kelley

just in case you want to know, and just in case you didn't already know, there is a hurricane that just hit off the coast of alabama in a place called gulf shores. that happens to be exactly where the condo is that my family bought when my grandfather died when i was very little. i've gone there once or twice a year ever since i was in second grade. anyway, we don't know if it's still there because it's right at the intersection of mobile bay and the intercoastal waterway. and just in case you didn't already know, water levels were supposed to raise 16-20 feet. that means the chances of the sailboat my dad and i towed down behind his jeep that i've sailed on ever since i was little is most likely gone forever, along with my parent's retirement home. i realize this sounds like the complaints of a spoiled bitch, and for that i apologize, but i didn't force you to read this.

anyway my parents are leaving tomorrow night, they don't know when they'll be back and i'm dreading to hear to news they'll bring. In the mean time i'll be in control of meals and driving for both my sister and i, not to mention that whole job thing and homework. in other words this weekend and upcoming week are most likely going to be the most stressful i have experienced thus far in my life. so sorry that i sound selfish and probably fairly materialistic but sometimes it happens that material things possess a certain type of attachment that makes it more than just stuff. in the case of the condo and our boat, this is so.

i'm just scared, about this weekend and the state of our "stuff"... very scared.
