I made Calzones last night. I made the dough and rolled it out and stuffed it with ricotta cheese, spinach, mushrooms, with roasted garlic olive oil (homemade of course). We used store bought pizza sauce as a marinara and that worked VERY well. Words of advise, basil is your friend for dipping sauces, oregano is NOT your friend if it is too far removed from pasta.
hecksheri thought it was good and so did I. If I had a restraunt it would be old-world style. I would have no menu and people would come in and order "a meal". I would supply them with the finest grub from my pantry and garden and charge them a reasonable price for it. I would server no "french fries" or hamburgers. People would have to be willing to eat like children are expected to.
That is funny isn't it though? Parents tell children to "eat what is there" and will often spend a good deal of time poring over a menu in a restaraunt rather than glibly ordering "Today's Special". I will try that the next time I eat out.
