AND, to add injury to insult --

Nov 13, 2008 21:45

I took a nose-dive onto the pavement in the New Yard today. Scraped up my hand badly enough that it made Steve start and hand me a napkin to blot the blood with during my next class, scraped the skin off one knee (through my unscathed jeans ... don't ask me, I don't know), and bashed the other knee to bits -- it's about the size of a grapefruit and a really enchanting shade of purple. It makes stairs ... problematic. *grumble* And what's worse, it was a *stupid* fall -- I was watching a puppy play in the leaves, and wasn't watching the ground, and turned my ankle on the edge of the path. The ignominy.

Otherwise, work. Prof. Caton's given me another day to finish the essay (which is so bad -- I have got to get thit little bugger done or it's going to drive me off the deep end!). No French tomorrow. Have to do my Welsh homework tonight, will have enough time tomorrow to do Irish before class. The external scholar who's going to be on Matthieu's dissertation committee is going to be in town tomorrow to give a lecture, so I guess I should go to that, too. Then the house has to be cleaned, and the laundry has *got* to get done. Ugh.

On Saturday, though, Patty and Mark from St. C. are coming into town! So Matthieu and I are going to go have lunch with them, give them a tour of Harvard, etc. I'm excited :)

And that's the news that's fit to print.

ow!, grad school is kicking my ass
