... is still learning, I suppose, right?
Some dumb stuff I've done recently:
-Spent tons of money on spices at the grocery store before realizing that there is a wonderful, extraordinarily extensive, dirt cheap spice shop close to my house. Grr. But at least now I'm well stocked in spices ...
-Ordered a book of Amazon before realizing that it doesn't actually contain the bit I wanted; I can get the bit I wanted for free off a "search inside this book" feature on Amazon, because it's only a couple pages. I should have asked at Ravelry first; they showed me that the *right* book had that feature, where the one I bought didn't (which is why I bought it - since it didn't have the search feature, I didn't know it was the wrong one).
I also tried to withdraw cash today, and realized that I don't have sufficient balance in either of my bank accounts to withdraw $20. And my rent's due day after tomorrow. And my credit card bill (thanks to spices and books. and, you know, groceries. no more frivolities for me!) is getting higher than I like it, too. I've been working for almost two months and haven't seen a penny yet - and I'm working for the richest school in the US. What gives?
Sigh.
I'm going to go make some stew, and see if that improves my mood.
EDIT: Nope, the stew didn't improve my mood at all. Put too much chipotle in it; I'm going to have to come up with something else for Matthieu to eat tonight, and see if I can figure out a way to salvage it so that I'll be able to eat it. (Pomegranate molasses?) So the moral of the day still serves.
