How to use Wayback Machine

OK, maybe a bit off subject, but you all are so knowledgeable! I have a defunct website URL and the webmaster said the site is now archived on the Wayback Machine site. How do I use the site? I put in the URL and all I get is a chart showing how many times the site has been looked at. I want the site itself! Do I have to make an account or ( Read more... )

Once you loaded the snap shot you just pick up any highlighted data and it takes you to what the website looked like at that date

That's not actually a chart of how many times it has been looked at but when it was archived. You need to chose a year (probably NOT 2016) and then click one of the dates in the calendar.

That will load the pages that were archived on that date. Too early and you probably won't get all the entries; too late and you arrive after the domain expired. It seems that nothing new was posted to that website after 2009...

And this is a Man From Uncle website?? Nothing to do with the Magnificent 7??

I usually go for one of the earlier dates, and just click on the coloured dots.... seems to have the best success rate :)
