The prodigal son returns....
Hello gorgeous people,
Its been a while since my last post, which doesn't mean I haven't been meaning to pop in and say hi for some time. Life has been full and unlike facebook, live journal takes a tad more cerebral power to update.
Generally life has been pretty good, I'm nearing the final stages of my PhD and I'm looking at weeks and days rather than months now before I submit my doctoral thesis. Luckily the bad luck I had with my health last year has not prevented me from catching up this year and I'm now sitting on a comfortable 47,000 word document, which after revisions is close to finished.
After the health scare I decided that a general overhaul was in order and subsequently I have given up smoking again. This time I think its going to stick, I have no cravings whatsoever and I feel healthier than I have in years.
I've also put myself on a diet and I'm attending the uni gym for an hour each morning. Its all paying off as I've dropped from 142 kilos (313 lbs) to 126 kilos (277 lbs) since late January. I'm told the transformation is dramatic, but really I'm just pleased to be able to see my dick again ;).
Kristine and I are both working now finally, so after 7 years of living on half a wage between us we are beginning to relax into a more secure and slightly less stressful financial situation. I can't see us buying houses anytime soon, but at least we're not scrabbling for 5 cent pieces anymore.
We were hoping to make it over to San Francisco/Napa for Christmas this year, but it seems that we might have to put that particular journey on hold as airline seats are limited and we would have to pay nearly double, and pay it upfront by the end of this month. Kristine is really keen to come and play Goldilocks amongst all the bears, so a trip is definitely on the cards. I miss all you Californian Bears terribly and you were all so friendly and accomodating... I'd love to share you with the Bird.
Anyway, that's all for the moment, I must get back to work.... I'll try and update more often
